My ‘lowers’ won’t be able to cope!

Yes, they will!

Sometimes we are inclined to make things too easy for too many of our pupils in the mistaken belief that they can’t cope.

Yes, they can!

All pupils, regardless of their starting points deserve an ambitious curriculum.

Here’s what ‘Harry’ had to say about why he enjoys demanding work:

‘I like hard because it's learning, because if it's easy, you're not really learning because you can just do it, but when it is hard you are thinking, so it stays in your head.’

So, how can we be truly inclusive, so that all pupils including those with SEND like Harry, have the chance to get into the big ideas of a rich curriculum?

Here, the research is helpful (actually we already intuitively know much of this, but it’s useful to have it backed up). Some headlines:
