Learning from others
Well hello there, and welcome to update #081!
I’ve been thinking recently about how professional learning doesn’t need to be heavy duty. The best CPD makes me think after the session ends. In fact one of the best ways I have found is to hear what others have to say about their practice.
I think we can access others’ insights in a number of ways:
In direct conversation with colleagues about how they think about the material they teach and how convey it to their pupils
Reading what others have to say either in blogs, books or posts
Listening or watching what they say either on podcasts or films
Let’s say that one school improvement priority is to support colleagues to diversify the curriculum, then the Myatt & Co primary and secondary subject networks are a straightforward way to gain insights from colleagues already doing this work.
